Just B Magic

Just B Magic was created in 2013 to Motivate, Inspire, Connect, and Empower people of all walks of life using magic as the medium. Whether I am teaching magic to kids, adults with developmental disabilities, or performing in a show, these four words guide my mission.

I enjoy giving a participant in my show the power to make the magic happen, it is so much more magical. I am pleased to announce that I have been brought on as an adjunct faculty member at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) to teach a class entitled “Using Magic for Communication and Motor Skills for Adults with Special Needs.” A few years ago, I learned about a magic therapy activity called Project Magic  which was started by David Copperfield in the 80’s. My own magic therapy class was created last year in an effort to use my skills to give back to the community.

The CCBC course is designed to enable the student with developmental, physical and/or emotion disabilities to learn communication, strategic, concentration, and gross/fine motor skills through the use of magic “effects” while building self-esteem and confidence. Topics to be covered include learning to perform basic sleight of hand and other magic effects;  building interpersonal communication skills including introducing oneself and communicating with an audience; and basic problem solving skills like planning, organizing, sequencing and strategy.

I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to posting here periodically about my progress.
